About InVitroSys

We develop high-precision laboratory instruments for research on living myocardium.

Technology transfer from the physiology lab

The MyoDish system grew out of research into the long-term culture of living myocardial slices (LMS). The approach combines electrical stimulation, mechanical loading and continuous recording of contractile activity. Its scientific foundation was described by Fischer et al. in Nature Communications (2019).

Andreas Dendorfer and Thomas Seidel founded InVitroSys in 2020 to bring this approach to other research laboratories. In 2024 we opened our development and production premises in Erlangen. The company’s registered office moved to Erlangen in 2026.

Who we are

Andreas Dendorfer

Prof. Dr. Andreas Dendorfer

Co-founder and Chief Technical Officer

Professor of Physiology at LMU Munich, bringing expertise in pharmacology and biomimetic tissue culture technology.

Thomas Seidel

PD Dr. Thomas Seidel

Co-founder and Managing Director

Group leader in physiology at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), researching living myocardial slices, cardiac remodeling and pharmacology.

Our team combines physiology, pharmacology, engineering and practical laboratory experience. We develop and manufacture research equipment, help laboratories choose suitable configurations, and support customers as they establish their workflows.

Research partnerships

We work with academic and industry researchers to adapt tissue culture and functional measurements to their scientific questions. If you have a project in mind, get in touch. Read more about our customers and partners.
